"I am motivated to create a work of art by the influences of dreams, colors, music and the natural world. First an idea-then a gestation period. This is when I consider the possibilities of line, color, placement, design and materials-in order to create a unique personal statement. The process then leads me to the choice of papers, textural mediums and tools. Most works have layers of color and textures. Otherwise, the paintings have simplicity of line combined with the use of vibrant color. I am influenced by the natural beauty of California. My continued interest in art history; through reading and visits to galleries and museums inspire me."
